Official club statement
Official statement regards Reserve Team Manager Rich Barter
The gossip mill has been working overtime and there have been a number of rumours doing the rounds linking reserve team manager Rich Barter with a move away from the club. A short statement follows from Rich Barter himself:
“I am very proud of my work with Tring Corinthians football club and I think my decision in May 2007 to come to the club with Ross was an excellent one.
This has been a beautiful and rich period of my short managerial career. I want to thank all the people I’ve met at Tring Corinthians for what I believe is a never ending love story. I wish great success to the club and I wish the players happiness in football and in their family life.
My wife and I have been presented with a truly ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’ to fulfil a dream of ours to spend some time working abroad (New Zealand). After much deliberation we have decided this is too good a chance to let go at a time in our lives where, as a young married couple, we are still able to do this freely.
I would like everyone at the club to know that of all the aspects of our lives to consider when making this choice, the hardest was this; giving up Tring Corinthians – something that I have invested so much in and to so many people I have grown such an affinity towards over the past twelve months.
Obviously I have spoken to the chairman, to Ross and of course to Gary in depth about this. Each of them realise I want to return to the club and fully intend to do this within the year. I'm grateful to say they have kept the door wide open for me and so I will be back - Tring ‘til I die!
Please realise that this has happened very quickly. Had this have happened mid-season I would have had the chance to address you in person collectively. To my players, in particular those whom I worked with regularly with the reserves, thank you. You are a group of exceptional players and people. My apologies that I’ve not been able to speak to you each individually but I will do this over the next fews days.
Barter concluded by looking to the future:
Whilst the timing has been slightly unfortunate in regards announcing this, it has been excellent in allowing us the chance for stabilty and I am pleased to say we already have a ready-made replacement who I will be working alongside during pre-season for continuity meaning that this year we all should be able to hit the ground running. So, all the potentially that was shown in a monumental end to last season has the opportunity to be fulfilled - particularly with the pool of players now available.
This is a really exciting time for the club, the future’s bright – THE FUTURE IS WHITE!”
News
The long awaited news...
Some of who weren't asleep during the Chairman’s speech may remember him stating thus: "We won't be ground sharing" ... "We don't need to"... ring any bells?
Alas my dear Corinthians it was merely an elaborate smokescreen to put you off the scent. Whilst you were skulking home from A-Town, kebabs in hand, the wheels of destiny were already in motion.
That week myself and the Chairman had been secretly brokering a deal for a ground share with nearby neighbours Hemel Hempstead Town.
I am very pleased to announce that the deal has now been finalised. We have set up a partnership with Hemel Hempstead Town FC that will see us play all of our home fixtures at Hemel along with a few other perks. The deal has been agreed for a term of 1 year fixed with the option of a two year extension which we will more than likely accept. If your not familiar with Hemel Hempstead’s ground it is around 2000 capacity with 500 seating i believe, situated a mere 20 minutes from Tring along the A41 and easliy accessible from the M25.
I've told you on many occasions that Corinthains is the place to be. I hope now you can see that we are not resting in our quest to achieve what we set out for this club. And it will not stop there.
We have also introduced two more teams into the set-up; we will be running an Under 23's side in the Aylesbury & District league to play on a Saturday at Icknield Way whilst the first team are at Hemel Hempstead Town FC. We will also be running two U18's side and an U17's side to ensure there are plenty of young players breathing down your necks. You will see many of these new players in pre-season, so please give them a kind Corinthians welcome and make them feel right a home!
So... alot to take in for you all, but needless to say some very exciting times lie ahead.

The 2007/2008 award winners
It's been a hectic few weeks since the very enjoyable end of season awards night. If you weren't there this is what happened....
The Highlight of the evening was Ross singing a brilliant rendition of Frank Sinatra’s 'My Way' which was received with aplomb and a sitting ovation. Industry experts present were heard to comment that it was the best version they had heard this side of the Atlantic since Rolf Harris covered it in 1987. I'm not so sure but their entitled to their opinion.....
The Awards were as follows:
Mangers Player - Steve 'Help Him' Smith
Players Player - Steve Smith & Phil Hawkins (joint winners)
Most Improved Player - Phil Hawkins
Top Goalscorer - Joynul Hoque
Reserve Team Managers Player - GI Cameron Osbourne
Players Player - Ben Alcock
Award for 'Skillz that Kill' - Jordan Parrett
Award for Jackie Chan - Che Kin To
Award for Rage - Kris Pace
Award for Ashley Cole - Charles Snoxell
Award for Curry - Joynul Hoque
Award for Judas - Luke Byrne
Well done to all the above winners in what was a great evening culminating in a Brilliant trip to A-Town where we had a very civilised tipple in the company of some of Aylesbury’s more distinguished Culture Vultures. Did I mention Gary's naked breakdancing? I'll let you take that up with him.
